It was supposedly a soybean plastic that started deteriating very early. Guest Posted December 10, 2002 Share Posted December 10, 2002 Close to 20 yeas ago, I met a man with a rather nice 1940 Chrysler Royal club coupe with bad dash plastic. He was going to take the car to an expert wood carver and have the dash plastic recreated in come kind of attractive wood that would look nearly original when painted or colored somehow. I don't know if he ever did it, but he sounded like he had looked into it and knew what he was talking about. This might be a good option for you.
