The Old Guy
Your 430 should run very nicely on 93 octane premium. You may find that for normal driving , you can get by with a mixture of mid grade and premium . Listen for detonation ,and as long as you don't hear any serious knocks, you are in good shape
Guest
my 72 455 has the same compression ratio. but it burns 87 with no problem. and with the compreesion being as low as it is you get the most power also. but you do have to worry about unleaded gas with out the hardened valve seats. Guest
I second The Old Guy. They dropped the comp. ratio in 71. High compression engines get better milage and power, but they pollute more.
Tomsriv
71 Riv
