The Free Wheeling baseball team played in the St. Louis Municipal Baseball Association and the Mound City League in 1931. Members represented various car dealerships around the city. “Free wheeling” was an automobile feature that allowed the vehicle’s front wheels to disengage from the axel and roll freely, arguably to improve gas mileage. |
