Guest Posted November 23, 2002 Share Posted November 23, 2002 Over the years I have changed many sets of lifters placing them over the old camshaft. A few things to consider though. look at the cam lobes very carefully. The slightest wear say to replace it. Also look at the bottom of the lifters. Ant concaving (instead of a perfectly flat lifter bottom) is an indication of wear and if the lifter is worn so is the cam. You may use old cam and new lifters if these problems dont show.
