Guest Jon Holbrook
Hi, I am rebuilding the power brake booster in my 1955 '98 Oldsmobile. It is a moraine power booster, and I have purchased a kit from Fusick automotive, the parts are a little different than what came out of the unit, and I am looking for some help. Specifically, the vacuum seal in the nut for the master cylinder itself. I spent two days trying to get the old one out, and today, I succeeded, but to my dismay, the new seal that was supplied is all rubber, and not as thick as the original. That leaves a space for the new seal to move back and forth, and I think that this will leak vacuum. The old seal was metal cased and had a leather seal inside, but there are no seals available like the old one, it had a number on it - 5455015 and C/R on the inside of the seal. Can anyone help???
