gearhead Posted December 29, 2002 Share Posted December 29, 2002 Not sure that I understand your post.I have a 47 Packard with the 6 cylinder. The coil mounts on the firewall and has a shielded cable that goes inside to the ignition key (sort of a primitive theft control device). I have never seen a coil for sale for this car. I am nervous about my coil since it is nearly 56 years old and fear that it will fail while I'm on the road.
