  1. I’m putting in a new power window motor on my 65GS as the old one is toast. While the door is apart, I’d like to dress things up. The top of the door had a stainless molding strip and a rubber “scraper” attached to it. I see that Steele has that rubber strip, which will order. id like to remove that stainless molding and polish it. It’s pretty scuffed up right now. I can’t figure out how to remove that molding and I’m leery to start prying on it for fear of damaging it. Any tips on how to remove it?
  2. You are half right. The upper A arm is unique to the 57. It wraps over the frame rail. The 58 and 59 had the mount on top of the frame rail. The lower A arm, however will work on the 57. It does, however, require the spindle from the 58/59. So, you can do the lower arm and ball joint swap and save a bunch of money. I actually bought a 58 suspension intending to do just that, but the lower arms were so rusted I chose to just keep the 57 ball joints. BTW, that is one very difficult and time consuming job. All the bolts are close fitting in the the holes holding everything together and I had to heat with a torch to get them out.
  3. I am putting new upper and lower ball joints and A-arm pivot shafts on my 57 Special. The lower A-arm came off just fine, but the upper is a real chore. I removed the lower radiator hose to get the shaft assembly out, but still had to remove the end caps to get them out. Not sure how I am going to get it back in. Am I missing something? Is there a better way to remove and replace the upper A-arm than I am doing? My old lower ball joint wouldn't take grease, which is why I am replacing it. The upper A-arm was really loose, so it needed replacing as well.
  4. I found an article with Quadrajet identification codes. https://www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-stories/choose-your-quadrajet-number-identification-guide/ Looks like this was for a 1980 Buick with a manual transmission. Date of build was 239th day of 1979. Not sure what Buick in 1980 would have a manual transmission. Not that sharp on cars beyond the Nailhead era. Ted
  5. I bought a bunch of Nailhead stuff recently and this Rochester Quadrajet carburetor was in the lot. I think it is for the '66 Riviera, but I am not sure of that. This is a core and would need to be rebuilt. I have a guy locally who rebuilds these and tests them on an engine. I think he charges $150. I am selling this for $25 plus shipping. If you want it rebuilt, I'll take it to him to rebuild and only add on the amount he charges for the rebuild. Ted Becker Winfield, Missouri (309)256-9860
  6. I'm looking to buy a fitted car cover for my 65 couple. I'm currently using a Budge #4, but it is too small. Car is mostly indoors, but I'd like the option for short periods of outdoors. Any recommendations? Mostly interested in fit, company credibility and quality. Would prefer made in USA, but not sure that is possible.
  7. Not for me, but a friend of mine in the Boston area. Any and all leads would be appreciated.
  8. I'm pretty sure I have an extra power steering pump for your 364. I got several of them and put new seals in all of them. Send me a PM if you are interested. Ted
  9. It is the rear window glass that I have. The front glass had a big chip in it and broke in half when I was removing it.
  10. I bought a couple of 57 Buicks several years ago and parted out the Super 2 door hardtop. I have sold almost all of the parts, but have a really nice rear window glass. I am tired of tripping over it in my garage. If you want it, it's yours. I am outside of St Louis. Would prefer a pickup or I can meet somewhere in the middle. I really don't want to ship it. It is really a good window and I hate to just pitch it if someone can put it to use.
  11. I have a pitted hood ornament left over from a car I sold several years ago. It needs replating to make it nice. I have no use for it, but hate to scrap it out. If you want it, it's yours. I won't even bother to ask you pay for shipping, which will probably be about $10. Send me an Email at: gearhead46@centurytel.net Ted
  12. I have the rear glass, but not willing to mess with the shipping. If you are willing to pick up in St Louis, or meet in between, then we can make a deal. The front glass is still made new and can be bought from a local glass company. I think they go for about $800. Ted
  13. I know this is not what you are asking about, but I do have a nice NOS set of front parking light lenses for your car. If you are interested in them, I am willing to make you a very friendly deal on them. Ted Becker
