Guest
Hello,
I'm in the process of restoring (almost done)my 31 model DH. In the process of having a new interior installed,(this took 10 years)the gasoline in my fuel tank turned to some awful varnish like substance and now I can not get fresh fuel from the tank. I've tried passing a wire backwards through the fuel line and flushing with clean gas but this does not seem to help. Does anyone have any suggestions???
Thanks
Dobie
P.s. I'm also looking for a replacement windshield rubber, Any idea where I could get one?
Guest
Drain all gasoline from tank. Pass 1/16" braided wire into tank retrograde via siphon tube. If this fails, attach end of braided wire to electric drill & spin wire SLOWLY while sliding wire in & out. If you spray some carb cleaner retrograde, you will know immediately when the obstruction is freed: Fluid will flow from tank drain plug opening.
