about a pontiac hood ornament

I have a question about the pontiac hood ornament, but first of all, I'm a know nothing guy about this topic. Just a couple simple question, is it a factory made hood ornament or not? And, is it brass, copper, or bronze?

Definitely not Pontiac.  Looks like something from the teens or twenties, maybe aftermarket.
