Guest
I have been watching Ebay sell license plate attachments which are commonly called toppers. They are experiencing a lot of attention and there are a lot of dollars chasing them. The variety of subjects is amazing. They attach by one or two bolts to the top of license plates and if you think about it and are old enough, everyone has seen them. Some of the more common ones are ads for motoring clubs like "tripple A". They were once as common as Burma Shave signs which I remember as a kid (I am now 58)There were political toppers like "Wilkie for President", oil and gas companies like Tydol-Veedol, Flying A, Crown gas, etc. I paid dearly for a polychrome potmetal sign that has a girl in a swim suit, a leaping sword fish and the words "Belmar (in New Jersey) Belle of the sea" in NOS condition. I will be pleased to correspond with all who are interested in this subject or better yet have interesting ones to sell or wish to buy a few of mine that I may part with because they are not central to my interests within the topper domain. Email me directly if you have business to conduct rather than use the forum. Use the forum if your comments have potential benefit to the general public.
