Guest
Welcome to the Maxwell Registry forum. The Registry is a compilation of identity information on all known surviving Maxwells from 1905 thru 1913. Eventually we hope to extend it to 1925, the final year. You are welcome to put up information, questions and buy/sell on Maxwells. Access to the Registry information can be had through this site. It is planned to put the Registry itself up on the Internet sometime soon. Maxter

Guest richentee
The engine number and car number is usually stamped on a plate fit on the front kickboard below the front seat. It is also usually stamped on the engine crank case. On the smaller two cylinder cars, the rear bearing plate and cam cage cover are stamped. I'm not sure where it is stamped on the HD engine, but I would look on the cam case cover and also on the left side of the crankcase in the transmission area.
