Identifying Generator

Hi
I have an aged "Car Generator" - ie. an auto dynamo - and I would like to find out its age, application, etc.
It is a Powell & Hanmer (Birmingham, England)12v 15Amp model. Construction is basically a cast iron cylinder with a flat for mounting using four tapped holes. There is a full diameter coned brass cap over the brushgear and it currently has a single flange flat belt pulley. The makers plate gives the above data and incorporates a winged P&H logo.
I haven't been able to find out anything so far except that P&H used to make acetylene lamps and, later, electrical lamps.
regards
jack
