ThunderVette
Finishing up the last items of restoration: Installed my original rebuilt generator, started it up and the GEN light is on. Checked to make sure ground was good. Had this generator on the car before rebuild have previously ran the car with the total new wire harness and all was OK. Any thoughts on what to check? This is on a '56 with 12-V. Thanks, Tim
paul2748
The only thing I can suggest is that you recheck the wires to make sure they are connected correctly. If there is no problem there, then have the generator and regulator rechecked.
Guest slumlord44
Did you polarize the regulator?

paul2748
Did you rebuild the generator or did you have it professionally done? If the latter, the rebuilder should have tested it before letting it go out the door.
