Mr. Anderson
The 91 finally got it's tires today, but after I drove it around to break in the tires some, I got a check engine light with a code 26. Now, I think this is transmission related because the car had a heck of a time getting up on the trailer to be hauled to the tire bay at Sam's. It seemed really sluggish in D4 (overdrive) and would not climb well on ramps, even at 3500 rpm.It responded the best in SECOND, but did not appear to shift, which leads me to believe that a solenoid could be the culprit here. It acted like it was stuck in either 2nd or 3rd. I know from the manual that there is a failure similar to that, but I can't remember it. Any thoughts? Guest Corvanti
E0 26 is a QDM code. not much time to check, but here's something to go thru:http://repairpal.com/gm-obd-code-26try to reset the code, and see what happens...
Mr. Anderson
Just had a bit to look over the manual. I might have a failed solenoid A in the transmission that keeps the car from shifting right. I'm guessing that the best way to check the solenoids is to run the tests from the manual?
