Guest De Soto Frank Posted January 14, 2002 Posted January 14, 2002 Help!
It's time (after 60 years!) to rebuild the front suspension in my '41 De Soto.
For years now, I've noticed in the shop books some "specialty" control arm spreaders and other gizmos used to establish proper pre-load on control arm shaft bushings and the like.
Are these tools essential? Did anyone use them back in "the good old days"?
Does anyone have them today?
Is there a way around them?
Thanks!
