John N. Packard
Removing the inner control arm bushings on my '54 Packard has me stumped! I can't seem to press them out, pull them out, or beat them out! Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
jnp
Tom Deering
Using a hack saw blade, cut two parallel grooves along the length of the inner shell. The cuts do not have to be through the shell thickness. This will weaken the shell and enable you to crush the I.D.and remove it and will expose the rubber so it may be literally "dug out". Now that the inside of the outer shell is exposed, cut two more parallel lines in it. This will weaken the outer shell enough to allow you to deform it and remove it. Crude but effective.
Good Luck, Tom
