Guest Cam3
I have a small leak in the rear main seal of my 1937 model 81 with the 320 engine. Can anyone provide the torque spec for the rear bearing cap. I have been given specs ranging from 90ft./lbs to 130 ft./lbs. This range is too great to take a chance.I hope someone from the AACA can help with the info or direct me to a reliable source.Thank you Cam
Owen_Dyneto
According to Motors's, all Buicks regardless of engine size between 1935 and 1949 have 90-100 ft.-lbs. specified for the main bearing cap screws.

I used the 100ft./lbs. waiting to see if the seal replacement stops the leak. I rather not go through the process again.Cam
