Guest luvmy89riv Posted November 24, 2013 Share Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) I have an 89 Riviera. Both of my right speakers I can hear static noise. Sometimes worse than other times. I can still hear sound/music thru all speakers. Left speakers not affected at all. Measured 3.7 ohms at the right rear speaker. What is the problem? If it is the amplifier going bad, where is it located? I can not find it in the service manual? Guest luvmy89riv Posted November 25, 2013 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Ok This is crazy. I am driving my Riv tonight and I had the radio on with the static in the background. Then the static just went away. No idea what to think now. The only other thought I have is that when the static started, we had a very cold (below freezing) night the night before it started. Any ideas if an amplifier can get cold and start static noise. Just guessing here. Thank goodness it is working good now. Hopefully it will stay that way.
