Wanted for Master Six

Recommended Posts

I believe that Buick suspended production of 6 cylinder engines in about 1932, in favor of straight eights (only) until about 1953, at which time they went to V8s.

I believe your distributor may have been driven off a shaft which also included the generator. I take much liberty to surmise this, and suggest you try your questions on the Buick forum. There are people here who can answer your question, and I am confident you will soon hear from one of them.

Hi, Thanks for answers, Yes Buick quit 6s in favour of Straight eights in '31 I think, You are correct in your assumption , the distributor drives off a worm on the generator - water pump shaft, within the Generator rear housing, I have one that fits the hole , but mine also have lug drive on the end as well as gear, ( which does not want to mesh ! ) I have posted on Buick board, having realised the errors of my ways, on the first day of registration !! We will get it right one day.
