Steering Knuckle

Can anyone tell me how a steering knuckle is assembled. I think the stub shaft ??? must be pressed ??? into the cast part that pivots on the kingpin.

The reason for the question is to find out if it is possible to repair a steering knuckle when it appears that there is a crack all the way around where the shaft goes into the cast part. It isn't loose but obviously not safe. Both my knuckles are like this. I cannot find replacements. Any suggestions as to options.
