1963 Riviera window sweeps

This sounds like a dumb question but maybe not. If the window sweeps are gone (I think they were attached to the chrome at the top of the door and below the rear 1/4 window), water must get in between the window and the chrome. Is this a problem and do most of you actually have the sweeps for the windows on your cars?

Thanks,

Steele Cooper

The purpose of the window sweeps is to keep debris from getting inside the door or body cavity. There are drain holes which allow water to escape. If the sweeps fail, debris can enter and plug these holes. The debris will hold water and eventually the body will rust.

I put my sweeps back in when I reassembled that part of the car..

I'd recommend you put sweeps in...
