The Old Guy
The 322 has a different bell housing. You may be able to swap the 401 and trans as a unit, but it depend on what year and series the 401 is
Guest
Can a 401 be swapped for a 322 in a 55 or 56?
Guest
55-6 use torque tube drive shaft/trans, last yr for DF trans was 63 and that was an open shaft design....I would stick with the older reliable...just my 2 cents..<P> don55
Guest
How about a '60 Dynaflow 401 combo? It had a inclosed driveline, will the tranny bolt up to the torque tube in the '55 or '56? . I have always wondered that. <P>------------------<BR>buickfam@aol.com<BR>Life long Buick Fan.<BR>1965 Skylark H/T<BR>1965 Gran Sport Convertible<BR>1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.<BR>"Fan of most anything that moves human beings"
