Guest sgt kohler Posted June 24, 2012 Share Posted June 24, 2012 hello from texas. i just joined the fourm and ive got a question about the 230 six engine. i have a 1945 wc 51 dodge jeep that has the original 230 six . it runs but has a rod knocking and smokes alittle. my buddy just pulled a rebuilt 230 six out of his 1955 plymouth. will this engine swap with the jeep engine? ive looked at parts interchange books some say yes and some say the block is different after 1953. they look the same to me except the vacum advance and fuel pump on the 55 is different from the 45. i sure would like to use it because its free. thank you for any info.
