Bottom line:
IS IT POSSIBLE TO SWAP A SERIES I 3800 FOR A SUPERCHARGED SERIES II 3800? IF NOT THE SUPERCHARGED, THEN WHAT ABOUT THE STANDARD SERIES II 3800?
(My case in a 92 Regal GS.)
Also, can you justify this?
So many people claim that they have done it, yet they cannot explain it.
IT'S LIKE NOT SHOWING YOUR WORK IN MATH CLASS. THE TEACHER ASSUMES THAT YOU HAVE CHEATED, OR MADE THE ANSWERS UP.
I onced asked if I could replace a 86' 3.0 with a 87' 3.8 and was told no big headacks.
Because I needed otherthings I bought the car anyhow. When I got it home and began to count wires on sencers and ignition and injection I became worried, there were more wires. Then I went back to the plugs at the ECM and found that they were the same from ECM to the dash only different from ECM out firewall. So I took engine harness and pluged it back to motor and put the ECM in the house for safe keeping. Now I don't need the motor now so I still cant say for sure But there isn't that many wires feeding box I'm sure they are just ignition, starter, oil pressure, water temp.,ground, speedo and such but it would only take one wire to throw ya.
These were the same series of motors from the same H body type cars.

To answer your first question:
Yes you can swap the SCII in.
To answer your second question:
Depends, it is a lot of work. The series II engine has a lot of wiring. Check out this board: http://members.boardhost.com/gm-fwd/index.html There are posts here conserning this swap. However, you may want to consider swapping the blower off of a SC series I. I have researched this and it would be much easier, although not as powerful.
Any more questions?

------------------
-Keith
'87 Lesabre T-type (The T without WHOOSH) http://members.xoom.com/lesabrettype/index.html
[This message has been edited by T-Keith (edited 10-22-2000).]
