Guest oakland Posted May 23, 2012 Share Posted May 23, 2012 I asked this on the Oakland/Pontiac forum but got no reply. I have a 29 Oakland and would like to replace the coil. Will any 6 volt coil from this time period work or will I have to find a coil specific to the 29 Oakland? thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Owen_Dyneto Posted May 23, 2012 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Depending on how the coil mounted, you may have some issues to overcome with respect to brackets, ignition switch interlock (if so equipped) but you could go to NAPA and get a brand new universal 6-volt coil and it should perform just fine.
