The Old Guy
Sorry it took so long to get back, but I was at the street rod show in Kalamazoo all week endwith my 455 powered 37 coupe. The heads are not the determining factor for compression. the combustion chambers are the same.It is the pistons that change the compression. You can put 70 heads on a later block, but you can't put late heads on a 70 block as the water passages are different. The intakes will interchange if you block the manifold heat. if you look at the early and late heads you will see the differences I am talking about
The Old Guy
Ijust read the rest of your post ,and I like the 118 cam and B4B ,but B4Bs are getting hard to find. The Edelbrock performer is my next choice,as it is almost as good as the B4B. I really don't care for the Poston on a big block .
