Guest
I am going to replace the fuel pump on my 69 GS 400 and am wondering if there are any snafu's I need to be aware of. All my 69 Motor's manual says is to turn the engine till the cam eccentric is at a low spot to reduce force on the fuel pump arm. Why am I replacing it? It seems to leak (oil) and I get a wierd clacking sound from around that area when I start the engine after running for awhile then turning off and restarting shortly thereafter. Plus a brand new AC Delco pump was only $22. Seems cheap enough to replace a 30 year old pump anyway.
BUICK3001964
leaking oil and clacking are common signs of age. use a line (flair) wrench on the fuel line nut so ya don't round it off. otherwise should be a sinch
------------------
Sean Etson
