Question about 1948 Chevrolet Transmission Mount

My 48 Chevy has her original transmission mount, and, its rotten. It appears to be the older design that uses a U channel to limit engine movement fore and aft. I managed to score an NOS mount, but its a revised design that replaced the type that I have. I found a write-up about it in the Chevy 1947 service bulletins, but, the bulletin doesn't indicate if I need to re-install the U channel when I put in the newer design. It simply says replace the old assembly with the new one. My mount is so far gone that I can't tell if the U channel was originally bonded to the mount assembly or not. Can anyone advise.

Larry;

I took a look at Steele's online catalog. What they show is the same style mount that I just got.
