Guest
I have just started a performance build on my 350 and am looking for away to make some extra cubes, without having to go the route of swapping out putting a larger motor in.I am new to Buick motors and am not too sure on what is swapable between certain motors. This is already costing plenty to build and will be slightly more fuel efficient than sticking a beefed up 455 between the fenders.
Guest john erik
Paul: These engine are completely different motors and the cranks are not interchangeable. If you really what added power I would suggest the 455 engine. Hope this helps.
Guest
paul, just be ready to deal with oil pressure problems. buick is real bad about not holding oil pressure. good luck.
The Old Guy
You will be much better off in the long run ,putting in a 455. It,s not that big a job ,and it will be much more cost effective than building a b***ard motor
Guest
The Buick 350 is a "small block". The 400, 430 and 455 are "big blocks". You cannot put the big block crank or even heads on a 350.
Guest
But oddly enough the rocker arm assemblies will swap. If you ever throw out an old buick 350 in favor of a 455 save the rocker assemblies simply because Buick parts are hard to find. also, the old style rockers 67-69 have a higher ratio and are stronger than the 70 and newer stamped steel rockers.
