Slipping a 65 grill onto a 63

this 65 grill came with the 63 I bought last year and even though I knew the front clips on the 63s and 65s were different I was still interested in seeing how tough it would be to marry a 65 grill to my car.

I started by cutting about 1/4" off each end of the 65 grill then used my grinder then a polishing wheel to shape the edges and corners.

I'm left with a slight gap at each top corner of the grill but I'm pretty pleased with the over all look and I like having the ability to swap the 3 piece 63 grill and headlight combo back on when I need to... you know... have headlights!

Ok, headlights will be my next opportunity to delve into but for now I'm ok as the Riv is just a Sunday driver (antique registration).

Anyway just wanted to share a quick and cheap way to show an option that didn't require banging metal or replacing fenders

[quote name=

Steelman: I love the look. Have the cops given you any crud about them yet?

Passed several and night and had several pass me with no hassles at all. Not even the Texas cops have said anything when we took the car there.
