johnbuicks Posted June 11, 2002 Share Posted June 11, 2002 Ok here we go again, need 400 pistins 30 over, was going to bore to 430 but was told would cause motor to over heat! Motor guy said need to bore to 30 over, one real nice guy offered to sell me 20 last time i posted. But will not work!! Guest Posted June 12, 2002 Share Posted June 12, 2002 As I always uderstood it, the 400 and 430 could both be bored to 4.25 maximum.<BR>You should be able to go to the 4.1875 that is the standard 430 bore and still have more to go in the future. <BR>Supposedly, it is the 455 that can't go more than .030 over without overheating.
