Guest gossir00
I have a radio delete chrome dash cover from a 1940 Buick Special Series 40. Does anyone know if this part was the same for a 1939 Buick Special Series 40?Thanks
Guest Grant Magrath
Without seeing it, I wouldn't think so. The 39 delete plate is the same as the dash, red woodgrain. I bought one for the coupe, but we rigged up a dummy radio using a Motorola radio designed to fit a 39 Buick, then fitted the 12v inverter to the dash and used a stereo mounted behind the speaker grille. Songs are on a USB stick, and it uses a hidden remote control. But a Sonomatic radio would be very cool!CheersGrant
danhar1960
Short answer is no. The '40 has a flat area panel were the radio head protrudes out. The '39 is curved and bent and the delete follows that form. If you need to see what one looks like, I have out in the shed that I could post a pic of.Danny
