Guest Richie09 Posted November 6, 2011 Share Posted November 6, 2011 Neal, I've done a little research in my 1955 interchange manual this morning and have some info. that you may use to broaden your search.The Dodge part #1092197 for '46-'47 1/2 to 1 ton (after serial no. 81134613 for the 1/2 ton) can be interchanged with Dodge part #579853 (wheel and all, less the pitman arm) which is: Dodge truck '37-'46 1 1/2-2 ton to serial #81365033 (1 1/2 ton) or to serial #82507398 (2 ton).Apparently Dodge went to the heavier duty assy. for the '46-'47 1/2 ton.Hope this helps and does explain why you were not interested in my '41 1/2 ton steering assy., which I assumed at the time would be the same through '47.
