ADVICE, PARTS NEEDED ON 48 BUICK REAR AXLE

Hi..I have a 48 Buick model 56-c that has the 3 speed and standard 454 ratio rear axle...need higher gear ratio! What years, models will interchange? I know buick also made 410,390,363 ratios for these cars, anybody got one for sale??! does anyone make new?Help!<BR>M Burnett

Try Wheatbelt(ad in the Bugle) Your best bet is to take the assembly out of the front of the housing as a unit.Ken is very knowlegable on Buick parts.

Thanks for all the posts everybody, I just ordered a 3.60 gear set from Wheatbelt, and will let you all know what happens when I try to install it, wish me luck! M. Burnett
