startergenrebuilder
l Hopefully I'm answering your question, if not feel free to contact me for more advice. Looking at the second picture of the starter/generator. The steel plate that your terminals all come through on the generator/starter should have "A" & "F" stamped near the terminals. It should go in this order:Large Battery Stud (w/ two thread sizes)"F" Terminal"A" Terminal4th unmarked terminal (Can't see this one, it would be behind the red wire in your picture)Now that I just typed this, I'm thinking to myself " He's probably looking for help on the switch end". If this is the case, let me know and I can help you out.JasonAdvanced Electrical RebuildersGrand Ledge, MIjason@aerrebuild.comAdvanced Electrical Rebuilders - Antique Auto - Marine - Agricultural - Industrial

unimogjohn
Tom, I have a 1923 45, but it looks the same as your electrical setup. Here are the diagrams I used to rewire the car. The one you are looking for is the one with the view of the starter/generator. If you need higher resolution send me your email address to unimogjohn@aol.com and will send you larger versions. startergenrebuilder
So, did you get it figured out? I probably didn't do the best job with my description, but I can see the steel plate I'm referring to in your picture, so I know it's there. I suppose you might have one that isn't labeled, but Johns picture/diagram lays it out pretty good. Let me know if you got it figured out.Jason

unimogjohn
Tom, does the starter work when you turn on the ignition and then press on the starter plunger? If yes, then you mean that your engine is not firing/running.

startergenrebuilder
Tom,I just responded to your email, so check yours when you get a chance. Can you clarify for me, is it a no crank issue or does it crank with no spark? Check your email and get back with me.JasonAdvanced Electrical Rebuilderswww.aerrebuild.com
unimogjohn
Tom, when I turn on my ignition, the amp meter shows a discharge. I would double check your connections at the starter motor. On mine, the discharge shows on the meter to the right. Just opposite of what you would think. When I turn on my ignition, the starter motor starts running, and the meter shows a discharge of about 8 amps.
Guest Tishabet
Tom, when I turn on my ignition, the amp meter shows a discharge. I would double check your connections at the starter motor.+1I don't know anything about your particular car, but it doesn't make sense that you would be showing anything but discharge with the ignition on but the engine not running... there's nowhere for energy to be coming from.
