72Droptop
I am in the process of a 455 conversion on my 72 Skylark and need the Heater box from a non-AC vehicle. I decided to remove the A/C for a cleaner look.
Looks like I will also need the fan shroud from a 455 too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Derek
Guest
if i'm not mistaken the hole in the firewall is much bigger for a/c car? not sure how its gonna work with non a/c box? you might want to check around and see if anyone has done this before you get to deep. Guest n2buick
Derek, the heater core is different on a non-air car, and the hose conections come out in a different place on the fire wall. So you can't just use the non-air cover, without switching the other stuff inside as well. I have seen people with A/C cars cut the A/C box flush across, and then fiberglass it to enclose it. I have a set up like I am describing, on a car I'm parting out. If you'd like to see a picture, e-mail me direct, and I can send you one.
