msmazcol
Could someone post a photo or drawing of the hood brace brackets at the front underside of a 48 Chevy two door. The car is in my painters shop and a hot rodder tossed them. Now the hood is a flexing, twisting, mess and he wants to put the braces back in place. Looks like they mounted to the outer lip and possibly near the hood striker bolt? Thanks
Guest Oldengineer
I have a 48 Fleetmaster Town Sedan. The hood bracing on mine consists of a triangular piece in front that holds the hood latch bolt and is screwed to the edges of the hood in front. There is also a beefy brace in the back of the hood - its a heavy U shaped 3 piece channel that runs all the way across. Looks like the studs on the back of the Fleetmaster trim spears hold it in.Regards:Oldengineer48 Chevy Fleetmaster 2 Dr. Town Sedan
