Guest 54 merc Posted September 25, 2010 Share Posted September 25, 2010 I'm replacing the oil pump on my 54 mercury. Do i have to drop the oil pan to put the new oil pump on? I know the pump is on the outside of the pan but i don't know how it comes off. I am replacing it because i have no oil pressure could it be a dirty screen? When i do put it on will i have to pull the distributor to prime the pump or is there another way? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
