RansomEli
I have a wonderful little 1921 9B touring and recently purchased some spare parts from a 1922 9B. The wheels are different. My 1921 wheels have lock rings and use 32x4 tires. The 1922 wheels are demountable (using bolts to hold the tire to the wheel -- I forgot the proper term for these).Questions:I guess Franklin changed over to the 10A type wheels before ending the 9B series. What rims (size and type) do I need? What size tires fit in the wheels? How hard is is to get rims? Thanks in advance.
Steve Braverman
According to the parts catalog, the 10A wheels are for 32" x 4" tires with for a diameter of tire seat of 24". The 10B calls for 32" x 4.95" tires with a diameter of tire seat of 23". Later 10C cars used 5.25/21 tires. It shows all series 9 cars using lock rings.
