Guest jmiller
Is there any way to read the codes without a diagnostic tool. Like shorting out 2 pins and reading the flashes on the check engine light. Couldn't find anything in the service manual or past posts.
TwinCamFan
Ha, it's even easier than that:cool: Cycle the key on-off-on-off-on and leave on. Count the CHECK ENGINE flashes and there are your codes:)short(small pause short, short would be a code 12There is a much longer pause between the groups of numbers, all codes are two digit from 12-55(which means end of sequence)Alan
Guest My TC Toy
Yes Jeff, there is. Without engaging the starter turn the ignition swith ON - Off - On - Off and On. Carefully count the flashes in the check engine light and note the short pauses in the flashes. Look carefully because the light is not overly bright. If you end up with 134555, this translates to fault codes 13, 45 and 55 (end of test), always double digits. Check your service manual for descriptions or get back to this thread.Good luck.Bob
