For those race fans on the forum, it might be of some interest that some of the trophies that were won by Jack Hinkel are to be auctioned off at a car show in May in Wichita Kansas. For those of you who are not familiar with the name Jack Hinkel we was a wealthy oil, banker and race car driver in the fifties. He owned the cars that sat on the front row of the Indy 500 race in 1951-1955. His car sat on the pole in 54 and let 47 laps before finishing 3rd.

The trophies are from several different races around the country and were donated by Jacks wife to benefit the ARC of Sedgwick County Kansas. They will be auctioned off at a car show on May 23 at old cow town in Wichita. More information can be found at www.arccarshow.com

Besides the auction it should also be a great fun car show with the cars inside old Cow town in Wichita which will make for some great photos of the cars with 1870 buildings in the background

Hope to see some of you there
