Guest sorryhog
I have a car that records show that it was 300 vehicles before the end of the model year, 1929, but the title says it is a 1930. Ever hear of this? Thank's for your time/
rwoods
Back then some states titled the year by when it was sold.

Guest Gary Hearn
Back then some states titled the year by when it was sold.Quite true and in many cases prior to today's VIN, the engine number rather than the serial number was used on the title to identify the vehicle. I see this quite often with 1949 Studebaker trucks, production started in mid 1948 and many are titled as such, though the 2R series started with the 1949 model year.
