Guest monty todt
I am replacing my timing belt on my 1990 TC V-6 3.0 engine which I have driven 225,000 miles and thought I should also replace the water pump. I have the pump off but the same bolts holding the pump on also held the part behind it (water pump inlet shroud?) on and I cannot get that part off. I have the bolts off and it is very loose but is being held by something. I have to get it off to get a new gasket behind it. Have any of you done this replacement? And how did you get the piece behind the water pump off? The Chiltons book does not mention this part. Thanks for your help, Buzz Not mad yet!!! Guest My TC Toy
If I read you correctly you have removed your dome (intake manifold) and have removed all the bolts from the pump and you have removed the pump. If my memory serves me the only other piece attached to the back of the pump is a tube that runs below the dome. This tube should be sealed to the back of the pump with a seal.I'll try to get additional info tomorrow, when I get home, and let you know what I find out.Regards
Guest LouZ
Hi Monty, I tried to use a Chilton's TC repair manual 1x. It had so little information I threw it away.. lou
