Guest martylum
Hi George-I have restored Chryslers from this period and have drilled and tapped the wheel around the shaft to use a standard wheel puller with 2 1/4 or 5/16" bolts. This avoids damaging the rubber covering on the wheel which may be brittle and crack if you try hammering. You do need to loosen the light and other control tubes at the light switch below the steering box and pull those out along with the horn wire in the center of the shaft so you can put the puller's center bolt on the steering shaft. If you have a sedan you will probably also need to loosen all the steering box bolts on the frame and the column support bracket under the dash to drop the steering column in the dash so the tubes will clear the roof.Marty LumMartin Lum
