Guest
I am thinking of buying a 1965 Buick Electra. It has drumbrakes in stead of disk brakes. I am checking out the car next thursday. Does anybody have suggestions for typical weaknesses to look for? Cheers
palbuick
Disc brakes werenot available on the 65's
They had the finned alum. drums. Rust problems bottom of front fenders, rear quarters behind rear wheel well, and especially the trunk area in the area where the body mount is located, this is toward the front of the trunk floor in the area next to the wheel well housing. Don't be afraid to lift up the trunk mat in each corner and check. Also trunk lids were very prone to rusting from underneath. A super riding car, with plenty of get up and go.
palbuick@aol.com
