Guest imported_GeorgeCagle
Greetings, I am getting ready to paint my dash and need to remove all of the instruments from the gauge cluster. The only thing holding me up is the light switch. Does anyone know how to remove it without damaging it? Also, does anyone have the paint code for the gray color that studebaker used on the dash? Thanks
SMB
There is a hole in the switch body where you insert a small screw driver and push a retainer and the knob and shaft will pull completely out of the switch you can then unscrew the chrome piece holding the switch body to the dash. I think the switch knob has to be pulled out before you can release the retainer. If you have a parts manual you can view an exploded view of the switch which might help.At least my 37 President switch was removed this way. Guest imported_GeorgeCagle
Thanks, I was able to remove it in a matter of seconds. It helps to know what you are doing.
