I just bought a Studebaker body and frame and the only ID I can find is a metal tag with "54-Q-3" on the firewall. I think it might be an Erskine. I don't know how to post pictures but I will email anyone interested.

Also where can I find the serial number?

Thanks guys

Mike

Mike,

What you have is a 1931 Model 54 Studebaker Standard Six. The Erskine name was dropped in 1930. The Q indocates that it is a coupe, and the 3 indicates the level of trim. There should be a serial number plate on the drivers side of the frame under the front fender.

Thank you very much Joel! I had one other question I didn't think about till now...

I've built a 1931 chevrolet frame and noticed that the frame I got with the Studebaker is VERY similar. The biggest difference being the rear cross member over the gas tank. Other than that I've found the spring perches, rail length, bumper mounts are identical. Was there a common producer for these frames?
