Guest old 52
started fine yesterday, went to start this morning, and nothing. battery seems fine, i banged on the starter a couple of times, still nothing...i need to get the car moved, it has the hydramatic trans, any chance i can rolling start it like a standard trans....mike
Oldsfan
The owners manual says you can push it in neutral up to a speed of 20 mph, then pull it down into drive (make sure the ignition is on). But I wouldn't want to do it....Paul
Guest imported_49packard
Is it the solenoid?-That can be bypassed. Starter is a bit more of a problem.
Guest old 52
looks like its the neutral safety switch, thanks to another member i bypassed the switch, and away we went...as far as rolling starting, havent tried it yet. but if the manual says its ok, i'll give it a go in a pinch. its a daily driver, so i may need to get it started in a pinch...
