  1. Hi guys, I am new to this message board, but I have hung around on the turbo dodge forum since almost the beginning. I decided to join up here, so I could make this post. Let me begin from the beginning...... A couple years back when hybrid motors (those mating a 16 valve head to a 2.2 common block) were taking off in the turbo dodge community, I picked up a brand new Maserati 16 valve head from Rick Diogo. The intent was to build a wild 16 valve hybrid motor for my 1989 Shebly CSX. I also contacted Forward Motion, a well known builder and supplier of performance related parts, for the turbo and Shelby Dodge community, to have them build me a common block motor to bolt the head too. To make a long story short, I have over invested in this project, and more recently my focus has switched from building a fast car to wanting some property of my own. I have decided to try and sell this stuff to help raise some funds. First of all, the head, which will come with intake and exhaust manifolds. It is a complete 16 Valve Maserati head, fully assembled, with cams, springs, retainers, intake manifold and exhaust manifold, thermostat housing, cam sprockets, ect. Basically it's ready to be put to use. It was purchased new from a dealer some years back by Rick D., who I then purchased it from. No porting was ever done with it. It's never been used or bolted to a block. Always stored indoors in a climate controlled house. About as mint as you will ever find. What you will get is the head, as shown in the pictures, fully assembled, plus the original stock intake and exhaust manifolds that go with it, which have not been ported either. Now a little on the short block. The short block is a 2.2 common block that was built by Forward Motion. It's their Enforcer 3 short block, with some extras for compatability with the Masi 16V heads. The pistons are forged JE, Masi spec pieces. They have a dished head and ensure a non-interferance engine. Compression is to be about 8.25 to 1, as Mike at FM figured it out to be, based on the custom rod length and pin location. Seal Power rings, Clevitte 77 bearings, ARP main studs, a heavy duty oil pump, and FM's own baffled oil pan are other options I went with. The crank has been polished, and it's a forged 2.2 crank. Standard/standard in journal and bearing size. The rods are titanium, by GRP. The rods slightly longer then stock, at 6.20 for an improved rod ratio of 1.75. The rods ended up costing me over $1300 by themselves. It was over kill, but I wanted them for their lighter weight and stronger strength. Better then billet alum rods in both respects. The whole rotating assembly was balanced and blue printed. FM told me it should be safe to spin up to 7500 RPM, where oil flow becomes the limiting factor. This is more less an overbuilt short block. All this in addition to the regular work and checks performed by FM in their Enforcer 3 engine packages. Photos - Now, let's talk prices. I have $4,750 invested into the head and manifolds, and $4,600 into the short block. I am not trying to get the same money back out of these parts, because quite frankly, I know it's not going to happen. I've lowered my price multiple times, with no one expressing any interest, so I am now down to the following prices. For the head with both manifolds, I'm asking $3,000 plus shipping. For the short block, I am also asking $3,000 plus shipping. If you are interested in both the head and short block, there is a chance I can work something out with you on the price. I am located in central Wisconsin, and I have no problem shipping either of these items, however you should be prepared to pay as much as $350 - $400 for the short block, using Fed Ex Freight, depending on where you are located. The head and manifolds, I know I can ship for less. Probably around $100 - $150. I am also open to local pick-up, if want to see these parts in person and buy them face to face. In the that respect, I may be willing to cut you a discount as well, since you'll save me the hassle of packing and shipping these items. The best way to contact me is email. riverroute@hotmail.com I check it at least two times a day, if not more. In most cases, I'll reply to you within 24 hours. Thanks for looking.
