I live in Minnsota and am looking for a 1970 SS396 that I sold 11 years ago.I checked with the owner I sold it to and he does not remember who he sold it to.Not only that he parted the car out and sold the numbers matching 396 and M22 to put in a mud truck, arghhh!!!Anyway I am trying to locate the vehicle and according to the MN DMV I am the last person to have it registered in the state which was in 1997. The vehicle was purged from their system in 2006.So...now I have hit a brick wall.I have the VIN number and but do not know where to try next.I am suspecting the vehicle was sold out of state or the vehicle is sitting somewhere in this state waiting and wanting to be found.Is there a national database for older 11 digit VIN vehicles or is there a reputable Chevelle owners association that could help? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!Thanks!!
